Don’t Join ACN Without Reading This!
If you’re a network marketer, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but network marketing is dying as we know it. It’s slowly going under like the Titanic and it’s pulling more and more people under to drown with it.
Let me first say this. I love the Network Marketing industry and it has loved me back. But I never made enough money to ever stop working but it treated me okay.
Due to the low start up costs and hyped up income claims, network marketing tends to attract unskilled people who are hypnotized with the big cars and big houses the heavy hitters dangle in front of them, all the while the smart marketer knows that only 2-4% of the people they recruit will ever make their money back, and ACN is no exception.
In fact, I’ve was a distributor for ACN. Unfortunately, I spent countless dollars and an tons of time trying to build a business using the teaching of ACN, and that’s why I left for this.
The fact is…it really isn’t worth all that trouble.
Why?
For Starters – Constant Attrition
Who wants to baby sit a bunch of lazy team members anyway? Yeah, I said it. We all know the only way to achieve an income worth talking about in ACN is to build a team of motivated individuals that are self-sustainable and consistently recruit new members. The problem is that people will leave your team as fast as you can bring them in, if you ever brought anyone in at all.
You can call them, email them, hold meetings, web presentations, market for them online or offline, offer to speak to their prospects…but none of that changes the fact that they don’t want help. They bought into the idea of achieving wealth through ACN based on the nothing but vapor. The hot air we threw at them to get them to sign up. And thought they could achieve it as easy as you told them it would be. Once they find out that is not the case, they don’t have what it takes to achieve success.
Constant attrition plagues almost every network marketer in ACN who has done anything with their business.
There are several key factors for constant attrition.
First of all, ACN offers poor training and poor support.
Don’t get my wrong, they try. But people don’t join ACN because they love the products and the company is financially solid. I’m not saying this doesn’t have anything to do with which company they join, but if someone chose to join your ACN business, it was because of the financial gain that could be achieved. Unfortunately, the only training most new marketers get involved learning about the company, the product and how to make a list of everyone you know including people you haven’t spoken to in 10 or 20 years. This system does not duplicable well. Since 95% of network marketers fail using this system, they are teach you how to fail, not how to beat the odds and succeed.
Now, if you are very passionate, and can get past the rejection you’ll face from your warm market and are willing to strike up a conversation with anyone you meet, you have a chance. But this is not most people.
This was the reason I never achieved duplication. I was able to bring people into my organization but those people were never able to duplicate because they didn’t want to do what I was doing.
The only way for you to have a fighting chance at building a decent MLM downline is to teach your team how to market.
Secondly, the process is too slow.
Most network marketing companies cost roughly $100-$400 to become a franchisee and then become product users. This means, you get a bonus or override of maybe $20 - $100 bucks each time someone joins your ACN business and make a couple bucks a month in residual.
How long many people will it take at this income producing level to achieve the lifestyle you truly want. Let’s be honest, there are no little DREAMS. There are only BIG DREAMS. Who wants to go through all this work just to earn a couple hundred extra bucks a month?
In network marketing, you either make it big or you don’t make it. Due to the compensation plans, these systems are built for speed and momentum. If you don’t have either one, you aren’t making any money.
There are very few network marketers who bring in 2-5 people a month consistently. Either they are blowing up, or they are fizzling out. There’s not much room in between.
Thirdly, people don’t make money quick enough to stay interested.
If people don’t see a check within the first month, they will likely quit. Even I they get a couple people in their business, how much was their check? Maybe a $100 or two. For new reps, all the money goes to their upline leaving them in the cold. Since most network marketers only sponsor 1 or 2 people, they never get anything out of it. But the heavy hitter got a couple hundred. That’s bullsh*t.
In addition, there is a direct conflict with the interests of most MLM companies and the reps themselves.
Why do I say that?
Because any knowledgeable marketer knows that your company’s product isn’t really its product as far as your prospecting and recruiting is concerned. The product is the financial opportunity. However, unless the company keeps a good portion of the sign up fee (which they shouldn’t), their number one interest is in selling the products. We are nothing more than their marketing strategy.
On the other hand, you are interested in building teams of people who learn to recruit using the opportunity as your lead (typically). Therefore, while you’re trying just to get people to join your business, they are pressuring you to push products on your recruits causing your recruits to quit. This is because people are only going to let $100 - $200 a month fly out of the bank account for so long if they haven’t made any money back before they cancel their auto ship and quit the business.
That’s why I left ACN for a new business model that doesn’t require me to talk to family and friends…AND it pays me a significant amount of money NOW, rather than waiting to build some imaginary downline and depending on the company to cut me a check.
It’s an easy question. Would you rather Get Paid $1000 Today, or would you rather wait until you build a team of people and get a couple hundred bucks at the end of the month (if you’re lucky)?
The fact is that money is worth more today than it is tomorrow. This is a simple fact. With inflation rates and costs of living increases, money today is better than money tomorrow.
So there is no sense in buying into the 5 year plan ACN heavy hitters are feeding you. I’m not saying it’s not possible to generate a decent residual within 5 years. But it’s going to cost you a lot of time and a lot of money. And by the time you get there, people will be leaving your organization as fast as you bring them in which means you’ll never be able to quit working.
The program I left ACN for is simple. You get paid 100% directly to you every time someone joins your business.

Now, if you are very passionate, and can get past the rejection you’ll face from your warm market and are willing to strike up a conversation with anyone you meet, you have a chance. But this is not most people.
This was the reason I never achieved duplication. I was able to bring people into my organization but those people were never able to duplicate because they didn’t want to do what I was doing.
The only way for you to have a fighting chance at building a decent MLM downline is to teach your team how to market.

How long many people will it take at this income producing level to achieve the lifestyle you truly want. Let’s be honest, there are no little DREAMS. There are only BIG DREAMS. Who wants to go through all this work just to earn a couple hundred extra bucks a month?

Maybe the youngest child has started school, and Mom suddenly has a lot of free time. There is a tendency for new Moms to stay in the nest a little too much at first, and this can lead to depression. A business Mom, on the other hand, is almost forced to talk to people! She has a reason to get up, get dressed in something other than sweats, and go out and meet people. Little Johnny doesn't care if you put on shoes and makeup, but doing so does wonders for your energy and mood.

Roadmap To Riches - Watch Out for the Scam Artist Sponsor?
What is a scam artist sponsor? I thought long and hard before writing this article as not to offend anyone. Nobody would ever be complimented by being called a scam artist. A scam artist is one who takes your money for product or service and never delivers anything to you. They run off with your money to never be heard of or found again. I have found very few people in the world who are scam artists like that, until I came online!!! And Roadmap To Riches is no exception.
Think about it, these people prey on the next wave. It's the right thing to do for them, but if they aren't going to help YOU make money, you're screwed.
Where am I going with this? Well, I’m simply referring to poor sponsors. In many cases, when someone doesn’t make money in a program, it’s not because the program itself doesn’t work. Heck, in most cases, many people are making a ton, especially in Roadmap To Riches! But many of the people joining these programs do not have the skill necessary to make it work. Think about it, these people prey on the next wave. It's the right thing to do for them, but if they aren't going to help YOU make money, you're screwed.
Where am I going with this? Well, I’m simply referring to poor sponsors. In many cases, when someone doesn’t make money in a program, it’s not because the program itself doesn’t work. Heck, in most cases, many people are making a ton, especially in Roadmap To Riches! But many of the people joining these programs do not have the skill necessary to make it work. And that’s where the sponsor comes into play. It is the sponsors responsibility to take the new member under their wing, and ensure they learn and develop the skill-set necessary to make money. I usually find that most sponsor’s are in it for the quick sale. This is the wrong mentality and in fact; it’s what gives programs a bad name!
These people are usually people who will tell you whatever it takes, but they don’t follow through on anything.
If you join someone who's making 5 or more sales a day, do you think it's possible you can get one on one personal support from that person? I don't think so.
I would love to warn you about these people by name, but I would never do that.

#1 So many companies....What is right for me?
Beware of the Fluff. They seem like great companies, they have a good sales pitch and their comp plan looks good too. They have big corporate offices and have been around for years. Isn’t that good? Any company out there that sells products like lotions, potions, pills, miracle juices or miracle gas saving products usually doesn’t work for the average person for many reasons.
Those companies usually make most of their money from you, the distributor, not from selling the products. They have you on auto ship, so you are their income.
They only pay about 2% to 15% so many levels deep. They will tell you that when you fill the matrix, you won’t have to do anything and you’ll be making 20 to 40k a month. The truth is, there are so many loop holes to their comp plans that no body ever reaches those levels. You either will have too many people on your left, but not enough on your right side to make the higher level payouts. They tell you that you need more personal volume and your group volume is fine or vice versa, or my favorite, you had fallout this month, so you no longer qualify for that car bonus we promised you about.
They make you hold home parties to push your crap on your friends. Listen to me…..If I wanted weight loss, I’d go to GNC. If I wanted Lotions, I’d go to CVS, Save on, Nordstrom or Bullocks. If I wanted to put additives in my gas tank, I’d go to Kragen, Chief or Pep Boys and buy a product from STP or Penzoil. You get what I mean….?
They are a copy cat company of the original company. How many companies out there are selling a juice that is based from the Acai Berry, Goji berry or the Mangosteen fruit? How many of those promise to cure cancer? What a joke? Is our society that ignorant that if something actually cured cancer, wouldn’t we want to check it out? How many travel companies are there now? How many fuel additives are there now? How many of those have been shut down? How many make up, skin lotions and vitamin companies are there out there?
It just seems like there is so many junk companies on the internet, how do you what is good and what is not? Some of these companies above actually have a good product, but I would never go in business with them.
So, how do I choose a business that I can profit from and that I can be proud to represent?
Simple, when I evaluate a company, I look for these key points. Keep in mind, when I join a company, my #1 goal is to make money and to do it legitimately. I do not want to hurt anyone or rip anyone off. This is what I’ve learned and these guidelines will help you determine what company is right for you.
If you are not making at least 75% (or more) of the upfront commission when you make a sale, forget it. Roadmap To Riches pays you 100%! This means that you are doing all the work and the company and/or the person above you is making all the money.
If you have to have 1000, 10,000 or 20,000 people in your organization before you make any real money. DO NOT Join. Most people will NEVER get there. In Roadmap To Riches you only need 3 - 5 sales per month to earn a decent income.
If they teach you to hold home parties and invite all your friends. Run away fast.
If they have a sales pitch 2-3 times a day and only 2-3 training classes per week. This means that the company is more interested in selling you than training you how to make money long term
If you can’t break even or get into profit with 3 sales, forget it.
If you can’t speak with your sponsor personally via phone or webinar, Forget it. I like to know who I am doing business with before I will do business with them.
These are not all the rules for success on the internet, but this is a great guideline to follow when evaluating an internet company.
I’ve personally left all of my other programs to jump into a program that DOES pay 100% commission, a program that DOES do multiple training sessions per week, a program where I COULD speak to someone personally, and a system that DOES do all my heavy lifting automatically. Should You Automate Your Business Presentation?
Uh...Yeah!
In a previous post, I talked about how importan your system is. Since the system may be the most important element in your business model next to getting people to see it, you have to ensure your system follows the blueprint I shared with you. That includes automating your business presentation.
Why?
First of all, as your prospect sees how easy it was for you to present your business, their eyebrows raise and they begin thinking that they'd like a system like that. They can picture themselves doing what you do. Secondly, you can get your opportunity in front of your lead while their are still hot and every single time!
It's the most efficient way to get your opportunity in front of each and every one of your leads. However, it is NOT the most effective way. But you can add effect with your follow up system and personal contact if you choose to...and I would recommend you do. It'll skyrocket your conversions.
But here's why I recommend an automated presentation:
#1 - Every one of your leads is placed in front of it. Without an automated presentation, you have to personally follow up with each lead. A lot of marketers do this with much success. However, there is not enough time in the day to follow up with all of your leads while their hot!
#2 - Without it, it's too much work. Who wants to be chained to their desk all day long. I can have people viewing my presentation all day long while I'm out enjoying life.
#3 - You can always choose to follow up personally if they do not sign up! You never lose this ability so you can get the best of both worlds if you choose to.
So how do you automate your business presentation?
There are a couple ways you can do this. First of all, you have to choose the "right time" to share your business. And that depends on your Lead Capture Page. If your lead capture page indicates they can check out an amazing opportunity by opting in, then share it immediately. Otherwise, if your lead capture just promotes your free report with no indication you'll be sharing your business don't do it immediately. In this case, you'll want to include it in a follow up message to your lead.
Immediate Presentations - Immediate presentations are the best way to ensure everyone "sees" your presenatation. When they opted in, they knew that there were going to be checking out your business with no obligation. It is very effective to personally conduct your presentation. In other words, don't route your visitor to a corporation presenation. This is definitely an option but remember what I said about the System IS King? Your corporate presentation does not speak to how simple and easily duplicable your system is!
Therefore, personally add an audio or video presentation conducted by you or someone else on your team that can emphasize your system and why they should join your team, regardless of what company you are representing.
I believe the best way to do this is to present a page with audio or video as well as text that will present your team philosophy, duplicable system, and compensation to the prospect. At the end of your page, give your prospect an opportunity to Enroll Now.
Another real effective tool, is to offer your prospect more incentive to join your team such as a "internet marketing" guide or a "get your business running in 10 minutes" guide. Something that'll let them make money within the first day! This will dramatically increase your sign ups!
Follow up Presentations - A second way to present your business to your prospects is to include it in a follow up email from your autoresponder. This works best if your lead capture page does not indicate you will be sharing an opportunity with them. The problem with the follow up is you will reduce the number of people who will "actually" see your presentation but it is still very, very effective. In fact, this is how I typically present my business due to the nature of my lead capture system. Again it depends upon your lead capture design.

My opinion...The System IS King!
The network marketing SYSTEM is why 95% of network marketers fail. It's not because the product is poor or the compensation plan is weak. It's because the system you are using the build your business is weak and no one wants to duplicate what you are doing.
So what kind of system do you need?

How difficult do you think it would be to get people to join your business when you have all this to offer them? All they have to do is sign up and plug in.
Here's the thing. Realize that your System is King! What I mean by that is your system will become the focus of your business presentation.
#1 - The first thing you need to do is find a company that supports your system. Why is this important. If your company requires people to jump through hoops to sign up and purchase products, your going to lose sales and your going to have to personally contact people to walk them through what they need to do. Also, you can't run an automated system if you have to manually order and handle products and ship them to your distributors. If you are currently with an offline company and you want to do business online...I'd recommend you switch companies if you aren't currently making any money.
#2 - The next thing you need to set us is your Lead Capture and follow up system. There are many ways you can go about this. You can purchase a Lead Capture system that will capture your leads and offers and autoresponder system all in one. If you choose to go this route, I would recommend you use EZ Lead Capture. However, with a basic package you have no control over your site. You can opt to have a custom page build specifically per your specifications.
Another option is to use an Insider secret...Elance. At Elance, you can post your requirements and offer the job to freelance site builders who bid on the job to to build your pages for you. I've used Elance many times. It's a very low cost way to go. If you use Elance, you have to know exactly what you want, including the text on your site. They'll write your copy for you but it's going to cost you.
If you're new to this type of business model - Fully Funded Lead Generation and Recruiting Systems, I would strongly recommend you plug into a system that is already successful. That is what I've got with Intensive Recruiting. Alot of times it is best to leverage all the time and work someone else has already done so you don't have to. Then, once you understand the process, you can design your own system once you've made some money.
The KEY to an effective Lead Capture page is the "bribe" that will get people to opt in.
People will not just opt in to your site just because they're there. You'd have to have an AMAZING Sales Copy to achieve an optimal opt in rate with nothing to offer your visitor. Since you can't gamble on your writing skills at this stage of the game, you must give your visitor a reason to opt in.
How do you do that? Well, everyone loves something for FREE! One of the most critical elements in this system is the strength of your "bribe" that gets them to fill out that form!
Create a free report, eBook, eCourse, streaming audio, or some other "creative" incentive that people WANT (this is key) and that is of value (meaning it's worth it when they get it). You can't just offer some piece of junk with an attractive Title!. If you do, you immediately lose credibility with your lead once they get the piece of crap you promised them. Good luck converting someone who thought your free report was worthless!
If you choose to go with Elance or some other service that doesn't offer Autoresponder, you'll need to get an autoresponder. They're rather inexpensive for all the work they'll do for you. I would recommend AWeber.

Traditional Network Marketing Doesn't Work
Forgive me for saying this...anyone who uses this method but Traditional Network Marketing Doesn't Work.
I know it's hard to believe but Traditional Network Marketing just does not work. Not for 95% of the people anyway.
If this is the method of marketing you've been attempting to use. You're going to find out why you need to change your business model, immediately or your going to lose your shirt or quit!
Network Marketing is a thriving industry, but only the few "Insiders" ever really make it big. The only thing that keeps these companies alive is their ability to attract enough new distributors to compensate for the old ones dropping out. The problem is, this inevitable process of taking advantage of people telling them they can build a business using outdated tactics and no formal education of training is just flat out WRONG and it gives our industry a bad name.
Most network marketing companies experience a 75% or higher attrition rate, and the other 20% are not making any money but tend to stay out of some feeling of obligation or loyalty to their sponsor.
These network marketing companies are not stupid. They know 95% of their distributors aren't going to make a dime. They also know, as soon as those distributors drop out they will no longer be customers. So they run their business accordingly. They know how to make huge profits in this environment and they do that instead of looking for a better approach for distributors to use to build their businesses.
Here is why traditional network marketing doesn't work
Warm Market and 3 Foot Method are not Duplicatable - Companies EXPECT you to make a list of EVERYONE you know (they'll tell you that you know 200 people). They want you to call each one of them of "Invite" them to a presentation. This can be done by a 3 way call, one on one (for experienced marketers), group meeting, hotel meeting, conference call, web presentation, whatever.
First of all, I'm not saying this doesn't work if executed properly. But, most people aren't comfortable doing this. Even if they get one or two of their friends to join the business, chances are, the friends aren't comfortable doing this. Therefore, they'll never experience any duplication which is what you're doing this for!
This method of marketing takes a very special person. Business opportunity seekers generally don't have the personality traits or the status amongst their warm market to make this work.
My experience has proven to me that the only people who typically ever experience any results are people who already very successful in life (in the eyes of their warm market); doctors, teachers, professionals, business owners, etc. When they present the business, their warm market listens because this person is already successful (according to them).
I know it's tough to accept this but it's the COLD HARD TRUTH!
So what's next? You call your upline and tell them your couldn't convert your warm market. So what do they tell you to do? They tell you to strike up a conversation with anyone you meet and pull out the yellow pages!
It Works Too Slow! - Even if you are able to get things going using this method, it is still not a very good strategy because it doesn't leverage your time well.
There are only 24 hours in a day and most people (if they already have a full-time job) can only spend an hour or two a day on the business. How quickly can you grow a business if you can only work an hour or two a day? Not very fast. Because of this, you are never able to generate the momentum needed to experience the Explosive growth you can using the strategies I teach!
This business is built for speed! Therefore, why use a method that limits the hours in a day you are able to recruit? Another limitation of traditional network marketing!
So personally, I don't like traditional network marketing that consists of home parties, hotel meetings, living room presentations, etc.
I prefer to use the internet, but the internet is becoming more and more expensive to use.

- Would you live in the same neighborhood?
- Would your children go to the same school?
- Would you give more to your church?
If you didn’t have to work:
- Would you do more with your life?
- Would you spend more time with your family?
- Would you spend more time enjoying life instead of working?
- Would you learn how to play the piano?
- Would you take up a new hobby?
- Could you become a better golfer?
As a business owner, you never have to worry about being downsized, laid-off, or relocated. This is YOUR business. Your #1 focus should be to build something solid and lasting.
At a JOB, you'll never know what it is like to work with other like-minded individuals who all work together to accomplish the same thing..."Financial and Personal Freedom."
